Question? What Lynx hardware will work with my voltage and hertz (50/60)?

The goal of this page is to help people understand what Lynx hardware will work for you and hopefully how. All hardware is designed in the USA so all hardware will work on 120 volts and 60 hz (except for the MR16 which works on 12 volt DC). Some hardware can also be used in other parts of the world that is using 240 volts and 50 hz. The SSR4 can also switch lights on at 24/36 volts when connected to the Freestyle controller. The SSR4-DMX can NOT be use with 24/36 volts.

Operating Voltages that will work with Lynx hardware

Device 120 volts - 240 volts - 12 volts DC
Lynx Express Yes Yes (1) No
Freestyle Yes Yes (1) No
SSR4-DMX Yes Yes (1,2) No
Lynx Splitter Yes Yes (1) No
MR-16 No No Yes

1 - A 240v transformer and different resistors are required. Please see the Equipment Manuals

2 - Currently the DMX option on the SSR4 can be used with 240v volts but the firmware doesn't currently work with 50 hz. Should be fixed later this year.

Supply Voltages from Controller to Lights or Light Strings

Device 120 volts - 240 volts - 12 volts DC - Low volts (24/36)
Lynx Express Yes Yes (1) No No
Freestyle Yes Yes (1) No Yes (2)
SSR4 Yes Yes (1) No Yes (2)
SSR4-DMX Yes Yes (1,3) No No
MR-16 No No Yes No

1 - A 240v transformer and different resistors are required. Please see the Equipment Manuals

2 - SSR4 can control low voltage lights while connected to the Freestyle.

3 - Currently the DMX option on the SSR4 can be used with 240v volts but the firmware currently doesn't work with 50 hz. Should be fixed later this year.
